Wilhelmspalais Stuttgart
The Wilhelmspalais Stuttgart was the residence
of the last king of Baden-Württemberg ,
William II. Today the building houses the
municipal library. This former royal residence
was built between 1834 and 1840 by the
Italian architect, sculptor and painter Giovanni
Salucci (1769 - 1845). William II`s reign ended
in 1918, when he was forced by revolutionary
troops to leave Stuttgart. The building was
destroyed in the war and was later rebuilt
in the classical style.
